Being from Chile myself, I wanted something that would have some of my country's recipes, but also speak to me in ingredients I could find here in the States. This book does just that and it is a staple in my home. Lots of recipes to choose from and they always turn out wonderful. The Pastel de Choclo recipe is a MUST try for anyone who gets this book. YUM!
NO PHOTOS AT ALL IN THE BOOK! What a bummer.
Wonderful and authentic Chilean recipes. Purchased one for us and one for my in-laws. Would be better if there were illustrations but having some familiarity with Chilean food, we already know what most dishes should look like. The narratives are also enjoyable for foodies!
We bought this cookbook so that we'd have an idea of the kinds of foods our Chilean exchange student might be familiar with. She has cooked several dishes for us since arriving a few months ago, many of which appear in this cookbook which she says is quite true to what she knows from her hometown. Easy to follow recipes.
I lived in Chile when I was a teenager. I loved the empanadas we got every Saturday for breakfast, and this book has a wonderful recipe.

My wife is Chilean and states that the cookbook is very accurate in ingredients and preparation. The Chilean cuisine is unique and any traveler will boast the goodness of Chile's cuisine. The author tells how he visited Chilean homes and resturants to create his cookbook. Viva la comida Chilena!!
