I bought this book because i am a fan of Wendy Goodman and I am giving to all my friends because this book goes above and beyond all expectations. It is a wonderfully eclectic collection of amazing abodes with stunning pictures AND the wittiness of the stories makes it a page turner. What a welcome addition to the library.
A delicious treat from the wonderful, lush, endlessly curious eye of Wendy Gooodman (who seems effortlessly to know EVERYBODY chic who walks the earth). There’s so much inspiration here for the amateur, for the pro - for anyone with walls and a roof and a fantasy. A total pleasure to pour over!
I am just a little bit addicted to this book. The philosophy of the book purports to be "Great interior design is a byproduct of one's passions," but actually, it is a lot "Quirky rich old people who don't give a s**t". Which makes it simply richly dazzling, chaotic, delicious.
So fascinating, well written, and inspiring. I can't say enough good things about this lovely book. Wherever you open it there's something of interest. There are many books on interiors but this is truly up there with the very best. Give yourself a treat and just get it and luxuriate in it.
Not as good as I had hoped. Decent photography, but not as good as in “New York Splendor “.

good book lots of interesting places
Eccentric Homes of Eccentric People. I enjoyed the introduction and agree with the writer that the best homes are ones that are actually lived in and created for the owner's enjoyment rather than for show. Beyond that, the tastes and styles of these homes exemplify that there are no hard and fast rules for interiors and that fashionistas and artists break the mold whenever they can. Personally, I didn't find any rooms here that I would want to live in, and was disappointed that they didn't at least have one home that seemed appealing. I'm talking NONE! And I enjoy eccentric spaces, these were just so over the top they made me cringe. The takeaway, if you want zany, outrageous, messy, and possibly ugly interior photography to look at, get this book!
