By all means read this. But not first. Go back and catch up on Sunstone 1-2. Then grab Sunstone 4-5Continuing the story from Sunstone 1-2. And I'm definitely glad they were all already out when I started this series.Good read. My series review from Sunstone 1 copied below for reference (I read them all before writing any reviews)The world is a wide place. Full of strangeness, and gems like this.First, address the elephant in the room: this series is set in context and world of BDSM and fetishwear. It is assuredly NSFW, and if kinks, homosexuality, nudity, erotic themes and situations, and dialog about nonstandard sexual preference and practice is going to bother you, ye have been warned. That being said, I started this on recommendation**, honestly because Sunstone had seriously outraged someone else so I figured it'd be good for at least a glance. And oh my, but there is a story there. This is a story addressing loneliness. About the communities around us, visible and otherwise. The connections we need, we crave to be human***. Too, it talks about consent, kinks, lifestyles, hobbies, and nerding out, treating them fairly. The artwork in the series is lovely, drawn in varying degrees of realistic tones and proportions (not chibi or cartoon-y, with occasional semi-photographic style or cartoonish look for bookends or emphasis)** If it helps, this was recommended by a librarian in charge of their graphic novel curation.*** not going for the obvious bondage joke there, but feel free to reference it if you wish

With the start of his third volume on Sunstone, Sejic has really hit his groove as a writer with plenty of room for his wonderful characters to breathe. Volume Three really sees the expansion of one of Sejic's future protagonists Anne coming into the foreground: a background player from the previous volumes, Anne is a tattoo artist who has a morbid fascination with S&M that develops into a honest love for it as she meets and interacts with Lisa and the others. Furthermore, the relationship drama takes the forefront in this volume with Ally realizing she's in love with Lisa, but Lisa struggling to decide if the feeling is mutual or purely physical. The manner in which Sejic writes the relationship melodrama is frustrating in all the best ways as he cuts to the core of the duo and their struggles to accept their newfound sexuality and honest feelings for one another.

Everyone is dealing with some kind of emotional problem in the third Volume of Sunstone. Lisa is beginning to doubt her relationship with Ally is good for, Ally can't bring herself to be honest with Lisa, newish character Anne can't figure out what to think of this whole BDSM thing, and Cassie is... freaking out about getting a tattoo? Ok, they're not all created equal, but you get the idea.So yes, even more than the last volume, this is all about the emotional conflict. Lisa spends most of the book struggling to ask Lisa something, as Sejic explores why being honest in a relationship can be so hard. While I enjoyed, these conflicts, one thing I didn't like was Sejic throwing in a couple of flash forwards that spoil where the story is going. It's tough to care about all the angst when you no where it leads.

At first glance, I'm sure that there are a number of readers who would perhaps be wary of a GN whose storyline includes explorations of the BDSM (Domme/sub) culture. However, Sunstone is SO MUCH more than that. The characters are colorful, rich, and complex; they are also hysterically funny at times, delightfully down to earth, and possess foibles and faults that I'm betting many of us are all too familiar with. Above all, Sunstone is a love story. And a truly heart-warming one at that. You will find yourself absolutely rooting for the main protagonists, Ally and Lisa, as they navigate their new relationship through good times, fun times, misunderstandings, and that eternal dance of truly getting to know, and allowing YOURSELF to be known, by another person whom you're attracted to. Stjepan Šejić is both a magnificently gifted artist and storyteller. Sunstone is definitely NOT one to miss!

I love this series. The characters are very well developed, instantly grab your attention and hold on. The subject matter is handled in a thoughtful and respectful manner. Alternative lifestyles are presented in a clear way, and examined by several different points of view by different characters within the book. If this were my lifestyle, this is how I would hope the people in my microcosm would approach life. The relationships are portrayed in very a very real manner, with awkwardness and fights getting as much attention as sexiness and romanticism. The respect paid to people of all different walks of life is just tremendous. I know I repeated that point, but I did it on purpose: the writers and artists should be commended for this portrayal.

The series is a great way to normalize all kinds of consensual sexual activity while exemplifying the fact that everyone- even the lgbt+ kinky ones- are still ordinary people with quirks. The story flows well, and the actions of the characters are believable. Although you already know how it will end, you still find yourself rooting for them to make it. A fantastic romp in to the lives of kinky people, with gorgeous coloring and art.

Fantastic graphic novel! Not much specifically to say about this volume, you can see my review of Sunstone 1 for an explanation of the series, but Sejic continues the excellent art and storytelling in this volume. I'm definitely going to keep up with this!

The Friend: A Novel, by Sigrid Nunez

Review

“The contemplation of writing and the loss of integrity in our literary life form the heart of the novel...Nunez’s prose itself comforts us. Her confident and direct style uplifts—the music in her sentences, her deep and varied intelligence. She addresses important ideas unpretentiously and offers wisdom for any aspiring writer who, as the narrator fears, may never know this dear, intelligent friend—or this world that is dying. But is it dying? Perhaps. But with The Friend, Nunez provides evidence that, for now, it survives.” —The New York Times Book Review"Charming... the comedy here writes itself... the novel's tone in general, however, is mournful and resonant... The snap of her sentences sometimes puts me in mind of Rachel Cusk." —The New York Times“In crystalline prose, Nunez creates an impressively controlled portrait of the ‘exhaustion of mourning.’” —The New Yorker“Everywhere in this novel it is impossible to separate love and companionship from loss...The Friend is one of those rare novels that, in the end, makes your heart beat slower.” —Los Angeles Review of Books“A beautiful book … crammed with a world of insight into death, grief, art, and love.” —Wall Street Journal"A penetrating, moving meditation on loss, comfort, memory, what it means to be a writer today, and various forms of love and friendship... Nunez has a wry, withering wit.” —NPR“The book is an intimate, beautiful thing, deceptively slight at around 200 pages, but humming with insight… [an] artfully discursive meditation on friendship, love, death, solitude, canine companionship and the life of an aging writer in New York. Far from being heavy going, this novel, written as a letter to the late friend, is peppered with wry observations, particularly those of a writer stuck teaching undergraduates.” –The Economist “In this slim but pitch-perfect novel, a writer loses her best friend and mentor suddenly without explanation…Wry and moving, The Friend is a love story, a mania story, and a recovery story.” —Vanity Fair “A poignant reflection on loss and companionship.” —Marie Claire “[A] sneaky gut punch of a novel…a consummate example of the human-animal tale…The Friend’s tone is dry, clear, direct—which is the surest way to carry off this sort of close-up study of anguish and attachment.” —Harper's Magazine “A wry riff on Rilke’s idea of love as two solitudes that ‘protect and border and greet each other.’”—Vogue"With enormous heart and eloquence, Nunez explores cerebral responses to loss… The Friend exposes an extraordinary reserve of strength waiting to be found in storytelling and unexpected companionship.” —Minneapolis Star-Tribune "Often as funny as it is thoughtful, The Friend is an elegant meditation on grief, friendship, healing, and the bonds between humans and dogs." —Buzzfeed“A serious book about a big sloppy dog, Nunez’s seventh novel… displays the intellectual heft of her late friend’s work, but also a distinctive sense of humor and narrative momentum.” —Vulture“A brilliant examination of the writer’s life, literary friendship, mortality, bereavement, and our relationship to animals. The novel is not easily summarized; the true rewards of this reading experience are the crystalline prose… Readers will also savor the surprising shifts in narrative focus.” —The Rumpus "An elegant and darkly humorous meditation on grief and companionship, it's a great read — whether or not you're obsessed with canines.” —Shondaland.com“Sigrid Nunez’s novel delivers an enthralling, emotional tale.” —Paste Magazine"The Friend is proof that what we lack is itself a vital part of life — and that loss can lead to meaningful connections found in unlikely places. Sometimes it can take an animal to make a person understand their own humanity. And sometimes a book as unexpected as The Friend can provide as much comfort as any canine companion.” —B&N Review “Quietly brilliant and darkly funny… [The Friend is] rigorous and stark, so elegant—so dismissive of conventional notions of plot—it hardly feels like fiction. Breathtaking both in pain and in beauty; a singular book.” —Kirkus, starred review “Riveting… This elegant novel explores both rich memories and day-to-day mundanity, reflecting the way that, especially in grief, the past is often more vibrant than the present.” —Publishers Weekly “Light, musing, curious, and somehow wonderfully sturdy.” –Vivian Gornick for Bookforum “Brilliant but informal, sad yet laugh-out-loud funny… This beautiful, spare, work will not disappoint.” –Bookpage “Nunez offers an often-hilarious, always-penetrating look at writing, grief, and the companionship of dogs.” —Booklist"The joys of this novel lie in Nunez’s striking capacity to describe the world and its inhabitants, both human and animal. Nunez is a keen observer of behavior, and throughout the text she plants wonderful nuggets that immediately ring true yet still manage to be surprising.” —Michigan Daily “A slow, poignant meditation on grief, rife with pithy literary myths and quotations… Literature nerds, creative writing students, and dog lovers will find this work delightful. Recommended for literary fiction collections.” —Library Journal    “Nunez’s story of a dog and his inadvertent caregiver is a darkly humorous and unsentimental tale of friendship, mourning, and solace.”—Electric Lit “The intensity and elegance of The Friend mean two things—you cannot put it down and you will cry. In a novel about loss and the loneliness of writing and imagination, Sigrid Nunez creates an irresistible tale of love and an unforgettable Great Dane. A beautiful, beautiful book—the most original canine love story since My Dog Tulip.” —Cathleen Schine, bestselling author of They May Not Mean To, But They Do

#14,002 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)

I'm not given to writing reviews, but I have to make an exception this time. As is often the case, there's good news and bad.First, the bad. The publishers deserve the firing squad, except since they DID have the good sense to publish the book, they get one star (and the author loses one). This is not a young adult book or one destined to be a best-seller, it's a book for lovers of fiction and the art and craft of writing it. So why, since most of its readers will be individuals wearing glasses, publish it in a font so small and with contrast so weak that some sort of magnification may well prove necessary? They'll have a chance, when preparing the paperback edition, to do better, and I'm writing this solely to encourage them to do that: MAKE IT READABLE.Second, the good. This is an important book. The author has created something original and, by its end, revelatory of how fiction comes to be - indeed, of what fiction IS. The prose style is dry, never poetic. (It's not 'academic' dry, it's 'journalistic' dry.) The plot is slight, and the digressions are many. But it's not - not ever - dull; there's not a wasted word in it. The pace is slow, but it's too interesting to put down. 3/4 of the way through, the author takes the reader on a detour that I was pretty sure was going to turn out to have been a bad idea. It wasn't; she knew exactly what she was doing. It turns out she's a fisherman (fisherperson?) who has been quietly letting out her nets all along, and when she hauls them in, her catch is bountiful. I'm impressed enough with "The Friend" that I'm changing the syllabus for a seminar I'll teach next fall, replacing a tried and true novel with this one, because it's such fine work. Brava, Signora Nunez!Five stars for the author - minus one for the publisher. PLEASE do better with the next edition; this is an important book!

The books I read usually fall into one of two camps: sci-fi/fantasy or LGBT/queer fiction. *The Friend* is about as far from those categories as you can imagine. The setting is contemporary, there's no mention of time travel, and two of the three central characters are straight muggles with benefits.I'm ashamed to admit that I'd never even heard of Nunez before I read *The Friend*. I caught an interview with her on NPR around the time the book debuted. She was so smart and charming and eloquent, I thought I'd give the novel a shot. I was very, very pleasantly surprised. For starters, Nunez is an outstanding writer. Her turns of phrase leave most authors I know in the dust. And yet, she manages to wow the reader without being showy. Her sentences pack a punch, whether or not you majored in English lit. Also, the third major character is a dog. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a sucker for dogs. Nunez captures the personality of her curious new friend perfectly, and their slowly blossoming love story is...well, it's better than most I can name.

I found this novel written more like a writer's journal to be very moving. It is written in first person and although it has a story line, there is not really much plot. A middle-aged writer, who now teaches writing loses a writer friend who commits suicide. In the past, the friend was also her teacher and briefly her lover. After his death, his huge Great Dane is left grieving and alone, a fate shared by the woman, and so she adopts the dog. Some of the chapters describe an incident, but others are short broken musings. The description of the interaction between the woman and the dog is wonderful, but there is also a great deal of material on thoughts that the friend's death seems to have stirred in the woman. If you like dogs and literature, you would probably like this book, but don;t expect a lot action..

I loved every page of this book. But - fair warning! The dog part of the novel doesn't really start until around page 80. I didn't mind too much because I was enjoying Nunez's writing immensely; still, I was anticipating the dog part of the story. (sometimes I think one would be better off not reading reviews) I thought about the book for days after reading it - the narrator stayed with me, she made me think, and I wished I could sit down with her and have a good long talk. Preferably with a bottle of wine. This is the first book I've read by Sigrid Nunez, and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work.

There is actually little linear movement in this novel. The plot line ebbs and flows around three major themes: the suicide of a former professor/friend/novelist and the shock and grief of this on the protagonist (although the suicide had been married three times and was a sexual predator of his female students including the protagonist), the struggles of writing and teaching writing as professions and the initial forced adoption of the suicide's dog by the protagonist. After a period of adjustment, the dog and his new owner find solace in each other. The name dropping by the author of writers, famous and not so famous regarding writing and death is a bit precious and rather annoying. In the end, the reader is left to wonder: What was the point of all this?

The Friend: A Novel - Very tedious and weighty musings about writers and writing. There's a little bit about grieving the death of a friend and a little bit about a dog, too. A serious literary work with a vague second person narrative. The book did not provide the progression one would hope to appreciate after reading the novel's synopsis.

This is a haunting read, full or ordinary and extraordinary moments. It's more about people than pets or, more precisely, it's what pets do for people and what people do for each other. I haven't recommended a dog book to my dogpark friends for a long, long time, but this book broke my silence. Even if you hate dogs, read this wonderful book.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. I had just finished reading 'the Last Days of the Incas" and...let's say it didn't have a happy ending: the good guys lost! So I read this mostly to educate myself about present-day Peru--because I'm hoping to go there next year.Well this book just captivated me. I did some backpacking trips in my youth so I could relate to the author's rambles about the back country of Peru. I was thoroughly entertained by his tales of Quechuan market-women, bar-room characters, eccentric archaeologists, sweaty bus-rides and tiny Peruvian towns with one or 2 dusty bottles of beer for sale. This lucky author went to a Peru that us 2-week tourists will never be able to see.Even more I enjoyed Thompson's depictions of the last Incas, hiding out like bandidos in this wild country. He makes us see their nobility and defiance, and oh gosh, what a great movie it would make! The only thing I didn't enjoy about this book was Thompson's attempts to tear down our romantic image of the Inca civilization by telling us that they were tyrants who oppressed the Andean cultures that they absorbed into their empire. Um, yeah I suppose they did have to oppress a lot of peasants to build their mighty stone works! We know that the Incas had a system of labor taxation in which the subjects contributed a few months of labor for the State. Was that oppression, or was it about the same as the 5 months' labor every year that goes to pay our federal taxes? Or was the Inca 'mita' system more to be compared with 'public works'? We do know that the Inca system of roads, terraces and storehouses enabled them to keep everyone fed in times of famine. I guess that is like our modern 'welfare' system?Anyway, I wanted to tell the author "lay off the Incas already, whatever they did, the Spaniards were 100 times worse!"Other reviewers have noted the sense of anticlimax: Thompson's prose fails to convey the drama of actually being in these mysterious, legendary ruins. Yet he writes evocatively about the mountains, the gorgeous vistas, and his thoughts about the Incas' relationship with mountains and stone. The most memorable part of this book was the last few pages, wherein Thompson writes of the messages woven into Peruvian textiles: the story of the execution of the last Inca Tupac Amaru and the hopes of vengeance against his executioners. "The idea of an Inca who would return and set his people free became a cult called the Incario, which kept a rebellious fervour going for long after Tupac Amaru's execution."

I devour everything Inca/Mayan...this is a great book. An easy read...but more importantly...a true example of what amateur adventurers can do on their own without the heavyweight trappings of academia and formal archaeological exploration.

I read this book some years ago and as a fan of travel literature placed it near the top. However, I did not write a review at that time. Now, having recently returned from a two week vacation in Bolivia and Peru, I can see what a fine book it is. The Incas were the last of the world's great civilizations to be "discovered." Since they developed in isolation and were not literate, we must try to interpret their mind set from what has survived these 500 years. Mr. Thomson manages by observation, rigid scholarship, many miles on the trail, along with canny speculation to get inside the mind of the Inca as well as anyone. For all of you romanticists out there this book comes as close as is possible to the modern possibilities of adventure.

This is one of my favorite books and inspired me to take a 10 day trip to Peru. It's written in a great way as both to be educational, informative, and entertaining. It's a great introduction to Peru for someone who isn't a historical scholar and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to be inspired to have an adventure.

Such a fun book to read. I tore through it while visiting Peru and Machu Picchu. Hugh Thomson's "The White Rock" was an invaluable part of the trip. It's always fun to follow in the footsteps of the author, especially when the writing is so warm and entertaining. I'll probably read this book again someday, especially if I ever visit the Sacred Valley again.

Product was as described, but a fairly old edition.

If you travel to Peru to explore the archaeology, this is a must read. I read it before I went and just read it again - several years afterward. Hugh writes in a very personal way that I find delightful - almost as if we were carrying on an extended conversation about the place over a few Pisco Sours at the Cross Keys in Cusco (wish we were!). During my second read, I re-lived my trip and Hugh brought it all back. Great job!

Wonderfully entertaining story of a real-life "Indiana Jones," with great historical scope. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

I received this book much faster than I had anticipated. The book is wonderful...maps and descriptions of areas that spark my imagination and make me want to get out there and explore!

Lots of places to go and see, planning on traveling in late August. I used Vol 1 when we drove across Hwy 50, nice landmarks

I gave this as a gift. My dad has spent hours looking at the book and reminiscing about places he had been to in Nevada. It gave us hours of conversation.

I was expecting a larger book. I have paid less for similar books at Hudson News located inside the airport, with that said I believe it was over priced. It was sufficient for the research I was doing, but future research material will be aquired differently. Tim

Great info. the book is very interesting and glad to own it. So interesting and easy to follow maps included.

great

Compared to its sister volume, which covers the northern half of the state, this atlas is a disappointment. I've spent quite a bit of time plotting all of the ghost town and mining camp sites from both atlases onto DeLorme topo maps, and felt I was really able to pinpoint sites in the northern book, whereas in this one there just wasn't as detailed enough information to confidently do the same. Distances, for example, were given in the northern book, but are missing here; likewise other identifying features like canyon names and smaller streams. It's still an excellent source, and the two atlases together locate all the sites detailed in Paher's classic NEVADA GHOST TOWNS AND MINING CAMPS. The atlases also contain quite a few photographs.

This is the companion volume to Paher's Atlas of ghost towns in northern Nevada. Again, there are numerous very good and detailed maps, many excellent if dated photos (they seem to have been largely shot in the 1950s or later, but not recently), and very little text. As such, these atlases are themselves companions to Paher's larger book on ghost towns, and the maps themselves include page references to where to find more information in the larger book on a given town.Visitors to Vegas expecting to trip all over nearby ghost towns will be disappointed; there are fewer decent and interesting sites in the south than in the north. Still, the interested reader needs both atlases and Paher's full study as well.

This is my 3 year old’s favorite book. He loves Tacky and will spontaneously sing the Winter Games Anthem. This is such an adorable little story. And I love that it has a song with the actual notes in the middle of the book. It was an unexpected and fun opportunity to introduce our 3 and 5 year olds to what sheet music looks like and what it means.

My kindergarten children and myself love Tacky! He is so funny and I can appreciate how he just lives his own life.

This book is hilarious! Perfect to read with my preschoolers during the Winter Olympics.

My first grade students love Tacky & this book makes it great for comparing and contrasting stories!

Love Tacky books. Great books for primary students!

This book has everything written twice. One of the fonts allows you to enlarge it and the other is probably part of the original story. Its annoying.

Great book. My kindergartener and first grader love the Tacky books. Great for any early elementary school aged child!

Nothing is as good at the first but I love Tacky!

About the Author

Hi - my journey into the financial markets was prompted by a desire to make sense of the jargon filled replies I usually received when asking any financial adviser, the simplest of questions. Clearly they believed as a mere woman, I was incapable of understanding the complexities of the markets. This prompted my desire to learn, and since then I have been involved in every aspect of trading and investing for over seventeen years. Now at last, I have the luxury of time, to devote the next phase of my life to writing a series of books with one aim. To explain complex subjects and concepts surrounding the financial markets, in a clear and simple way. I actually began my professional life, as an English teacher. However, English was not my first language, having arrived in the UK from Italy at the tender age of three. At that time I spoke no English whatsoever, and my first memories are of my little village school in Scotland where I grew up, and where I learnt to read and write, chalk in hand! Very old fashioned, but what a wonderful way to learn. Since then, I have never stopped talking! - well I am Italian and as I'm sure you know, Italians ALWAYS have an opinion on EVERYTHING!! Languages must be in my blood, as I also studied French and Spanish. I've now transferred the 'teaching gene' into written form through the power of Amazon. I hope, that whether you are a trader, investor or a speculator, you will find one, or perhaps more, of my books useful in your own approach to the markets. Kind regards Anna

I feel the book worth reading especially on the sections that describing specialists' behaviors. As a retail trader, the essence is to find what the major players are doing and following it. I think Anna is very successful on selling that idea.Regarding the actual VPA, I found it is useful on futures/forex and in micro timeframes, by micro I mean 1min ~ 15min chart. However if you apply it to stocks, there will be too much noise as often the stock move with the rest of the market or industry, and the specialists have many ways to manipulate the price and hiding the volume. It still helps you on analyzing the move, but by itself does not form a system.Throughout the book, the author used lots of paragraphs to emphasise "the great value", "great power", "extremely powerful", "so powerful" of VPA, I would say almost 5% of the words are used on that, too much that almost like a brainwashing. A logical reader will automatically realize the value if it truly benefits, this is totally unnecessary.Generally, it helped me on getting more insights on the market, very good book for beginners.

In spite of extensive experience with chart patterns and trend-following indicators, I always seemed to be in the dark about market timing and persistence, getting into good trades late and out early --- not to mention getting into bad trades early and out late! Although doggedly pursuing multi-timdframe analysis helped me at least stay out of countertrend trades where my previous propensities were most damaging, the continuing inability to stay in good trades long enough merely slowed the drawdown flow ,,, yes, you CAN go broke taking profit! ...just more agonizingly slowly...Anna's excellent ground up cause and effect presentation has made a lasting and continuing improvement in both my trading style and results.

Probably the book I wish I had discovered early on in my technical trading journey. The book explains the basics of candlestick along with the influence of volume to provide clues on where the market may be headed next. The book is down to the earth and summarize very well the power of VPA.The book is an easy read but there is too much repetition. The author provides a bullish and bearish case for each situation but I find it overkill to go in the same lengthy details. Once you understand the bullish case then the bearish is just the opposite and the author should trim it down. I hope you like the word "whilst" because you will probably find 500 occurrences of that word in the 150 or so pages :) I was quite surprised when I got the book with its unusual format (for a book that is) of 8.5 x 11! I then thought this was great for displaying large charts to actually find out their size would fit in a much smaller standard book. Unfortunately the biggest drawback of this book are the charts. Not only they are small (compared to the book size) but they are almost impossible to read. You cannot distinguish a bullish to a bearish candle. The charts are grey on black. I can't believe the publisher printed it out as is.I would give a 3 stars for that because it is a crucial part of the book where everything is put together and the chart quality makes it hard to follow. However I am rating it 4 stars because technical trading should be kept to simple things and this is what this book is promoting. Volume + Price is everything. Everything else derives from it.

A must read for all new investors Opened my eyes and learned a lot Recommend by a pro trader who worked in Healthcare until it became a broken system it is today to becoming a pro-trader full-time making lots of money in the market. .I will always remember her she taught me a lot and told me to pick up this book. Great Great Book

Good book, bit confusing some times especially toward the end during the chart reading chapters where the discriptives don't seem to match up to the chart data. I was sitting there going, " what are you talking about what chart are you reading from where are you looking?" More than a few times. Maybe I need to read them again but that's my initial impressions. It seems each book in this series (if it is a series) builds on the last and gets more and more complex. The auther in the introduction to vpa book talks about how simple it is then when you get to this one, you realize it's not exactly that straight fwd to just jump in and trade and as if that's not enough the third one "A 3D approach"... It's gets waaay... Anyways I'd have to say though that after reading this and maybe including the intro to vpa (read that first) you'd be good and ready to start on her life trade rooms to really get into it. Cuz I'm finding the third book (A 3D approach) a bit daunting. If you can only afford just one book get this one then head over to the trading rooms at her website and be done with it.Good luck.

Anna, I bought this book because I wanted to concentrate on volume more than I previously had done. What I took from this book was the following: The book for me is very well laid out, it is very easy to understand and it provides a good basis from which to comprehend the importance of volume. I am not a novice in trading, but as any trader knows, you always continue to learn and grow in your understanding of this extremely difficult subject matter. You thrive to be consistently successful in your trading, In particular I am now interested in figuring out if a divergence move is more or less profitable, thus my interest in volume. I thank you Anna for this really outstanding book. It was very much appreciated by me.I can recommend this book to those who are interested in volume which is about everyone in trading. It is a truly interesting book to read (am I starting to be boring??)

Concept was thoroughly explained with lots of clear examples. Can be applied to anything that gives volume and price with examples of several different time frames and vehicles (stocks, forex, etc.). I believe this type of analysis can help traders in their decision making process. Good luck to all.

The scene is lovely and I had hoped that as I opened each shop window or door that something inside the shop would be revealed that would add more to the scene as a whole. Example: open a window to a house and see someone knitting inside, or lighting a candle, or baking cookies. But no. This one has you open a door to the tree in the evergreen forest and find...a basket of apples. In a forest of pines! You open a door to a lovely mysterious castle and find... a cottage! What? Show me a princess making cookies or something! Open the roof of a house and find a Christmas card! That would have been a perfect opportunity to discover someone getting a Santa suit out of storage! Anyway by day five I ordered a different one and hope it will be more along the lines of how I like my Advent calendars. If you are like me, you will not like this one.

This advent calendar came very close to the ones of my childhood. The main picture depicts a delightful collection of animals busily going about town as they prepare for Christmas. Each window opens easily and cleanly and reveals a charming object of simple pleasure, such as an apple or a pair of mittens. The pictures all have a dreamy, watercolor or pastel quality. And the last window opens to the Nativity scene, which for me is a requirement for any advent calendar. I bought one for me and one for my granddaughter so that I could see what she saw each day. Her parents told me how much she loved opening her calendar and seeing what lay behind each window. I will look for Bernadette's calendars again next year when advent approaches.

still have one of these every Christmas for old time's sake... this was one of the best ever.. beautiful design.. fun to open .. keep 'em coming...

This is a sweet and lovely calendar. The little animals are fun, and the windows are charming. This is the first time I've bought an Advent calendar from this business, but it certainly won't be the last.

I purchased these early for Christmas 2018. It looks great.

A beautiful illustration to hang on wall or refrigerator during Christmas. Flaps all easy to use. A sweet little holiday ritual.

Instead of a big box, this calendar came in an oversized envelope. Worked great.

I loved this advent calendar. The illustration was charming and each window revealed totally adorable item.
